Origin/meaning

These arms are canting arms, “Loubet” meaning “small wolf” in Occitan. The bell in the chief references the fact that the family of the armiger comes from the high valley of Massat in Couserans, a historical province in Central Pyrénées: the two capitals of Couserans have a bell in their arms, gold for Saint-Girons (the political capital) and azure for Saint-Girons (the episcopal city). The armillary sphere is an iconic symbol of the age of great discoveries and the Renaissance period. It is a metaphor of knowledge, especially geographical and refers to the curiosity and the taste for travel of the armiger.
The motto “Varia vivendi cupidus” is an adaptation of the motto of the Renaissance Pope Pius II (1405-1464), “Varia videndi cupidus”. It can be translated as: “eager to experience a multitude of things”
